Hello, can someone help me switch back to the old versions of the forms? Our team would populate a form and press the back button to have everything stay populated to submit again. It was our only work around to use the forms and now when we press back all the information is deleted. We need the info to stay populated when we press back.

    Hi @tchav,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We've determined that data re-use not working when clicking back on submitted forms is caused by a bug and our Product team is working on a resolution.

We are not able to provide a time-frame on how long the resolution could take but we are doing our best in order to have this fixed as soon as possible.

    Thanks,

    Georgie

Hello! I have the SAME problem and was given a different answer by your Customer support team this morning, Erick P. He told me specifically that this is not the way Forms is supposed to work and that it is a browser setting, although this is occurring in both the browser and Desktop version of Smartsheet. I would also like to have an update on when this will be solved!

  • Hi @H Brian

I'm happy to help clarify here.

Currently Smartsheet Forms do not have a setting to save previous filled in content in the form for re-submission. Please add your vote to this related Product Idea to show your support for this feature request!
    User-selectable "Sticky" Form Response Fields

However I understand that the previous Form & Browser experience was that after submission a user could click "back" and see the content they filled in within those Form fields. This is related to Browser caching interacting with a Smartsheet Form, versus a direct Smartsheet setting. This behaviour changed with the new updated Forms experience (see the announcement here) and is what the Product team is investigating.

While there is no ETA for resolution that we can provide, it is on the Product's team list and actively being investigated!

    Cheers,
    Genevieve

I'm happy to report that the Technical Support team has acknowledged this was a bug affecting both the Desktop Smartsheet as well as all browser settings and they have implemented a resolution!
