This just made my day! I've been looking for something like this for awhile now.🤩

    Isis Taylor

🎓️ Core App and Project Management Certified 🏅

🌟Peer Connect, Mobilizer, and Early Adopter Program

    Business Analyst Senior

  • That's awesome @Isis Taylor . I direct Smartsheet University and I'd love to hear about your experience if you pursue these enhanced certifications.

And to everyone in the Smartsheet Community. Thanks for letting me hang out here 🫶. While designing all of the enhancements to the program we drew a lot of inspiration from Overachievers, Mobilizers, Spotlighted Members and other rockstars in this space as we worked to define "Smartsheet Greatness"

@RKeller I'm taking the Builder Path course next. My personal career goal is to become a Smartsheet Architect, so these courses came right on time.

🎓️ Core App and Project Management Certified 🏅

🌟Peer Connect, Mobilizer, and Early Adopter Program

    Business Analyst Senior

  • Amazing. We will help you get there!! Since you're Core App Certified you'll be assigned the Builder Certificate of Achievement automatically.

So you don't need to take the Builder path but it's a pretty great class and a lot of fun (not even in the nerdy sense of the word ;-) I think it's genuinely a fun way to learn 😃 So if you have a little time and a LivePass or a Learning & Certification Pass so the course is free for you, I think it's worth the time and will set you up really nicely for the remainder of the program.

However, If you look at the course description and think it will be too much review for you, it's also fine to skip since your Core App Certification puts you ahead on the path.

Hi @Rhonda Keller, SmartU Are you saying the Builder Certificate of Achievement is automatically assigned to people of are Core App Certified?

My next couple of Certifications I am looking forward to are the Sys Admin and Control Center ones. I hope I would make time to get them done before the year runs out, lol.

    Best regards,

My career trajectory is moving towards Architect. The Builder Certification of Achievement would be a great additiont to my resume. I have been using smartsheet for close to ten years. Smartsheet core certified, project management certified and admin certified.

My issue that some of these are out of reach for single shop individuals. Unless I missed something this is cost prohibitive for me.

  • Hi @Jacob A that's right! If you already hold a certification (minus Sys Admin) Around September, you should get an auto-notification from SmartU issuing your Builder Credential. In the unlikely event that doesn't happen. Feel free to reach out to me directly. Rhonda.Keller@smartsheet.com.

I definitely encourage you to continue building your Control Center skills but I'd hold on pursuing the other certs in favor of putting your time and energy into the Professional Certification later this year. My thinking is, not only have those credentials been updated to reflect everything that we've learned makes someone wildly successful, the titles themselves have added meaning - since they are named based on derived value over product functionality.

@Rhonda Keller, SmartU Thanks for the added clarification because like @Jacob A , I had System Admin and Control Center next on my bingo card.

  • Hi @Meg Y we built this program to help people advance their careers. So it's great to hear that your trajectory is Architect. Thank you!

The primary aim of Smartsheet University is to equip individuals with the skills that they need for success. That means going beyond teaching the features and functionality of Smartsheet into teaching how professionals can apply those features to excel at their jobs. (Sorry for the commercial but I promise it's relevant in this case, hang in there 😜 ) In addition to that, when someone has the skills to be successful, we want them to be able to demonstrate that through certification.

While we incur costs in both aims, you can imagine our costs for equipping individuals with skills, are much higher than those for validation or certification (and in all cases its in our best interest for folks to acquire and demonstrate their Smartsheet skills) So we want to keep the barriers to access as low as possible.

To that end, it's likely that with 10 years of experience you'll be able to challenge the Professional Cert without any help bolstering your skills through SmartU. When the cert releases, you'll be able to purchase just exam access at a rate that should work even for single or small shops.

I think Architect will be harder to pass without official SmartU training only because that level distills Best Practices we've learned from countless implementations on so many different solutions and in a variety of verticals but that's a discussion for later - and until then I'll look for you among our first Smartsheet Certified Professionals 😃

    Hi @Rhonda Keller, SmartU

Thank you so much for the clarification and thoughtful advice—it’s incredibly helpful!

I’ll definitely keep an eye out for the auto-notification from SmartU regarding the Builder Credential in September. And I appreciate the direct contact just in case anything slips through the cracks.

Your insight about the Professional Certification and its evolved structure really resonates. I’ll shift focus accordingly and continue sharpening my Control Center skills in the meantime. Excited to see how these credentials reflect the value Smartsheet professionals bring beyond just product mastery.

Thanks again, and I look forward to staying connected!

    Hi @Rhonda Keller, SmartU

Thank you for the clarification and encouragement for becoming a Smartsheet Certified Professional. I have already looked at the presentation part. The cost of just an exam is usually within reach, however discounts are always welcomed. I am looking forward, in that nerdy twisted way, of taking on the challenge.

Rhonda, what is this about "Builder Certificate of Achievement". Please explain this. My Core App Certification is in my OTHER profile. When I started working in SS again, I was told to create another profile rather than transferring my profile. I really wish my 2 profiles could be merged

  • Hi @SherryFox . We recently updated the prior Core App Path training to focus on building a basic but complete solution. This new training includes a couple of courses that we describe as the "Builder Path" and individuals who complete the path are awarded the Builder Certificate of Achievement.

As someone who is Core App Certified, you've demonstrated that you already possess the knowledge we cover in the Builder Path, so you'll automatically be issued the Builder Certificate of Achievement within our Learning Management system. Education transcripts and certifications are held in Smartsheet University, distinct from your Smartsheet Community profile. I believe I see your transcript record in SmartU, including your Core Product Certification, but I'll DM you to confirm.

@Rhonda Keller, SmartU - when I go to Smartsheet U it says the Builder course is not available. I was looking for the pricing. I have all of the current certifications except for CC Blueprint - which was next on my list…

Oh - I think I see that since I am already certified that I don't need to take this?

    Thank you!
