Version Control in Proofs when 'upload attachments' is turned off?

Hi all,
For one (very specific) reason I have Upload Attachments turned off for our enterprise account. In this case, the only method to add a file to a proof is by attaching a link. In our case the link (should) always point to a Box or Sharepoint file.
I suspect that this is the reason that I cannot do anything to update the Version in the Proofs view, and also the Version column on the main sheet does nothing?
Similarly, I assume this is why annotations are not available? (Smartsheet can't mark up a file stored in Box…)
Just a confirmation/sanity check, please
Thx!

Hi @Josh W,
I tested this on my end and can confirm that you’re correct - when the account settings only allow users to attach files as links, it’s not possible to annotate proofs or add new versions. When opening the proof in the sheet, a link icon and the name of the proof is seen, so it’s not possible to annotate the proof here - clicking the link icon will open the file in a new tab. However, users should still be able to add their comments on the proof.
Hope that helps!
