Why isn't automation working?
This is a simple automation that is not being triggered and I can't figure out why. Could use your advice please!
When the intake form is submitted, it updates the intake sheet, but the automation doesn't appear to be triggered as no emails are sent/received. I cannot figure out why.

@Paul Newcome, thanks, I figured out my issue. I had a few items in the automation, so I took them out and started over, testing before adding another. I was successful to the end.

Have you ensured the status field is in fact blank and isn't possibly being populated by a hidden/default field in the form?

The next step woul dbe to check your personal settings. Do you have the box checked to send automations based on your own triggers?

Hi @Paul Newcome, where do I go to see personal settings? I didn't see anything relevant in Notification Preferences.

In Smartsheet itself, click on the small icon in the bottom left hand corner as if you are about to log out. In that menu, you should see an option for "Personal Settings…". Click on that and then navigate to the "Notifications" tab.
Once there, look in the bottom left hand corner of this window, and you should see a checkbox to "Include my changes in sheet notifications".

I'm also having the same problem. The status in my workflow is correct and the box in my personal settings is selected.

@Paul Newcome my notifications page is set the same way as you showed. Now that another user, @PCJohn reports same issue (in this trail), would you mind spending a bit of time with me on Mon/Tues to connect and figure out what's happening? Hi Both,
Just as a comment really but I always set my status = New as a default in any form as I find that triggers as it has a value better than blank.
