How to report your contact list

Hello all smart seat enthusiasts.

I would like to borrow your help today as well.

I would like to create a form using Document Builder. When entering contact list column values into a document, how do I ensure that names are entered instead of email addresses? I would like to know.

It would be helpful if you could let me know.

Currently, Smartsheet does not support a built-in way to show only the display name from a Contact List column directly in Document Builder — unless that information is stored separately.

You can add a helper column in your sheet to extract the name portion from the contact cell. Here's how:

Create a Text/Number column (e.g., "Contact Name").

Map this new "Contact Name" column to your Word template in Document Builder instead of the contact column.
