How to create a filtered metrics output for a stacked chart in a dashboard?

How do you create a filter on a metrics sheet that can be put into a chart on a Dashboard. I don't want to see data for rows that have $0. If I create a filter, you cannot select the filter in the dashboard chart and you cannot use conditional formatting to hide rows. Reports that are filtered cannot be used in metrics widgets, but they also cannot create a stack chart.

I'm going in circles. Can anyone provide solutions?

I think the only way for you to show chart widgets based on data from Sheet (not Report) is cell linking.

You need to create separate sheet and celllinkg (as bulk of course) only the data that shall be shown in chart (so no $0 ) there is no way as for now to create any filtering in widgets.
