Long Forms and the ability for submitters to Save as Draft

Hello Smartsheet Community -

I have a form that we are trying to launch to our "audience" that is a bit long. There are various sections reviewed by different teams. It can take time if the submitter needs to contact their own team members for the data needed to complete the form.

Is there a formula or function that will allow a submitter to complete the sections they have data for, and then save the form as a draft to come back and complete and submit the form when they have the information they need, similar to how it is available when asking my question here, there is a Cancel, Save Draft and Ask Question?

Andrée - your thought on one other feature we'd like to implement. This particular information follows a project in stages. Initial planning, Development, etc. Currently we have them complete a .pdf form at each stage, to make sure they are using the latest form. What they usually do is open the original file, update it and resubmit. So the thought is, they can see their submissions (as with Dynamic), and maybe do a copy and resubmit. They would be able to update answers to what the latest data is for the next phase. A new log number would be assigned for the next phase. I noticed for my comment I was able to edit to add this last sentence, but the edit gives 4 hours. So hopefully there wouldn't be a time limit on how long between phases a submitter can copy to edit.

Ok. One of my clients has a multi-stage process, and a similar approach would likely work in your case.
Still, instead of resubmitting, we'd use the same information and change the permissions as needed.
We could also have it copied to a log if you need to go back and see what it was historically, and if the Cell History doesn't suffice.

Hi @Andrée Starå - Finally able to get back to this project. I have a follow-on/clarifying question.

For a multi-stage process, is there a way to create a new submission, or is it limited to just updating an existing submission?
