Backups

I know that we can set up the back up processes our selves but I wanted to see if Smartsheet as a whole also has a system backup in case your system ever goes down.

We are working to set up company standards and I thought it is worth finding our from you.

I do currently use the backup feature regularly. I did have one that still says pending from over the weekend. I also tried setting up another regular backup for another workspace and it is not allowing me to schedule it.

We really want to be sure we can get our data if anything happens.

As smartsheet is cloudbased system there is no option to automate backups if there is outage of smartsheet in general and to have access to them from your PC. Unless you will take working student whose job will be to save the backups of all the workspaces every week to your internal HDD but remember the backup is only of the sheets nothing on dashboard/reports etc.

I first started working with smartsheet in 2014 or so and there never was a bigger outage - once one of the companies I worked for did not pay the bills on time so after 3 months of delay smartsheet just cut us off… so we lost the access to data - this could be the only case that comes to my head.

there is this webpage: status.smartsheet.com that you can always check if Smartsheet is online.

@kowal thank you for your experience. I have some of the backups setup already. I did have one that didn't process this weekend so I am not sure if the workspace has just gotten too big.

I was able to get some reports to download with a backup pull yesterday which was interesting.

We are going to set some standards for our company so I just wanted to have the information on Smartsheet as we begin that process.
