I need a way to generate batch QR codes in Smartsheet that are tied to individual line items in a Smartsheet inventory database. Each line item includes multiple column categories (e.g., date received, item type, quantity, lot #, shipment state).
Process:
- Inventory manager submits a Smartsheet form for each shipment, entering shipment details (date, item type, quantity, etc.).
- The form automatically generates a number of unique QR codes matching the quantity of items in the shipment and produces a PDF list of the QR codes.
- The inventory manager uses laser-etching equipment to scan and transfer each QR code from the PDF list onto the individual items.
- Shipment status is updated from "not received" to "received" via the same or another form.
- Inspectors later scan the QR codes to view or edit the related database entry, record inspection data, and link final inspection reports back to the item’s entry in Smartsheet.
