Smartsheet Form Displaying Field in Scientific Notation

Hi all-

I have a Smartsheet form that prepopulates from a calculated field Tableau. Previously, the primary field was populating just fine, appearing as a plain integer. This field is an integer in Tableau. Suddenly today after this form working just fine for a week, the field is displaying in the form in scientific notation, which is not helpful for the function of this form. This field is the primary field and is already formatted to be a "text/number" in Smartsheet. I have explored various troubleshooting, including converting the field in Tableau to be a string, but still no luck.

I have requested a pro desk appt, but I can't meet with them until next Wednesday! This seems like it should be such an easy fix, but I am stuck. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hi @Melissa SR,

As the Tableau integration is one-way (read-only for allowing exports from Smartsheet to Tableau), it seems you’re populating the Smartsheet form or sheet another way - perhaps via API or a third party app. Could you provide some more information about how the data is populated in Smartsheet and, if possible, a screenshot of what you’re seeing in Smartsheet?

Hopefully that will help the Community to provide suggestions on what might be causing the issue.

However, this may need investigation from our Support team (your Pro Desk session is a great time to troubleshoot the issue!) or potentially support from the third party app, if you’re using one to pull the data from Tableau to Smartsheet.
