Circling back to this….. Another year goes by and still no folder level sharing. Smartsheet developers don't listen to their clients. I have seen hundreds or posts and requests for this over the past 7-8 years. And still NOTHING!! This has been a huge issue for us as a company. As you can tell this is a sore spot for us and has been. Dynamic view doesn't allow users to be able to update dates with predecessors so that does not work.. Work app is also an issue as well. We are trying to run our construction schedules from smartsheet. And sometimes we need to switch project managers for that project. First we don't want project managers seeing jobs they are not assigned to.
We also don't want to have to go and redo the sharing for each sheet. Each project can have approx 10 sheets linked together per job.
Workspace for each project manager is also not an option because everytime we hire a new one we would have to create a new workspace…. then redo the hundreds of reports to accomidate that new workspace.
Where simply if there was folder level sharing it would SOLVE EVERYTHING. Our upper mang. reports would pull off the workspace and the project managers would only have foldler lvl access thus allowing them to only see the items in their folder. Plus we could tailor things like a dashboard and other items directly to that project manager without having to re share them.
And because we are a construction company that creates new jobs several times a week our templated Job folder and sheets don't exist until we create them from our template.
Is there any other work around on this?
There has to be a simple soultion out there we are missing.
