Hello,
I'm running into a frustrating issue where:
- My Smartsheet account is configured to use a comma (,) as the decimal separator.
- In Smartsheet, the decimal key on my numeric keypad inserts a period (.) during form entry, instead of a comma.
- This causes Smartsheet's Number Check to treat the input as text instead of a number.
This only happens to me with Smartsheet. It doesn't happen with any other application, neither desktop nor through the browser.
I have consulted the issue with Smartsheet Support and I have tried several things proposed by them but they didn't work (such as the Temporary Keyboard Layout Switch). Finally, they have confirmed "that this behavior is currently the expected functionality within Smartsheet when the Number Check is activated. When a value is entered into a form and separated by a period (.)—even if your regional settings are set to a comma (,)—it is treated as a text string and not a numerical value." and they encourage me to submit an Enhancement Request by posting here this idea.
Therefore, from here I would appreciate if you could look into this issue so that in regions where we use the comma as a decimal separator we could use the numeric keypad key, thus gaining much in comfort and agility. Many thanks.
