Hello, As a recent user I was tasked with creating a large number of Asset Automations (100+) having already created a spreadsheet to track the task and required fields I thought it would be beneficial to all users if this processes could be automated via CSV upload.
Why This Matters:
Currently, Asset Automations must be created manually, which is time-consuming and error-prone when dealing with high-volume workflows. Enabling CSV-based automation setup would:
- Reduce manual input and human error
- Accelerate onboarding and campaign setup
- Empower teams to scale operations without increasing overhead
Please see my use case as well as two other potential use cases I can see being employed by my Org (and other users):
Example use case: Large scale distribution of content to multiple collections based on existing tags
As noted I was required to create a large number of Asset Automations (100+) as an existing workflow I compiled thee information into a format so that I could simply copy paste into the required fields (Name, Trigger, Field) there is a margin for error due to the reputative nature of the task. A direct upload of the sheet would have reduced the number of hours spent on this task down to a few minutes.
Example use case: Event Photography Distribution
An event media team covering 100+ events uses Brandfolder to distribute images. Each event requires a unique automation rule to route assets based on metadata tags (e.g., city, photographer, client). A CSV upload would allow them to set up all automations in minutes rather than hours. And reduce human errors.
Example use case: Franchise Marketing Campaigns
A retail brand with 150 store locations runs seasonal campaigns. Each store needs customized asset routing based on location tags. Bulk automation setup via CSV would streamline campaign launches and ensure consistent brand execution.
Suggested Implementation/workflow:
- Button on "Asset Automation" page marked "+ Create Asset Automation"
- Click to download CSV template with columns for: Automation Name, Trigger Tag, Destination, Conditions, Status, Action etc.
- Upload CSV in platform
- ability to download current Asset Automation list via CSV to make alterations/audit list review and confirm before activation
- Restricted access to function based on user type.
Creating an asset automation can take 5-10 minutes per automation depending on complexity, users could see a huge time saving and reduced number of clicks for this feature.
