Counting cells with two rules

Column with multiple drop down options (cities). Some submissions have one city specified, some multiple.

Followed by four optional columns (Brand 1, Brand 2, Brand 3, Brand 4). Not all entries have four brand entries, some 1, some 2, etc.

I would like to have a count of the number of brands (cells that are NOT blank) per city. ie how many brands listed for city 1, city 2, city 3 from the drop down.

I hope I'm making sense here… I've tried COUNTIF(CITY10:CITY17, CONTAINS("Minneapolis", @cell )) but not sure now how to add in count of brand columns not blank

Hey @annie.dingwall, could you add a column for "Not_blank" - which would just be a sum of your brand columns that contain text? If so, something like this would work:

=SUMIFS([Not_blank]10:[Not_blank]17, CITY10:CITY17, HAS(@cell , "Minneapolis"))

where "Not_blank" is populated by: =COUNT([Brand1]@row :[Brand4]@row )
