With our current Smartsheet accounts, which we use for multiple clients, data is stored in North America. Since we are based in the Netherlands and operate here, we want all data to be stored within the EU, in accordance with EU and GDPR regulations. This is also a requirement from one of our clients. In fact, one of our clients has indicated that if this is not possible, we would need to stop using Smartsheet – something we obviously want to avoid.
From my online research, I understand that it is possible to switch data storage to the EU. However, this only applies to new data from the moment the change is made; existing data will remain stored in North America.
Is it possible to also move the previously stored, existing data to the EU, and changing the current Smartsheet region to EU? In other words, can all data be stored within the EU? I could not find any information about this on the Smartsheet website. If so, what are the steps to arrange all of this?
