Why does the date default to 2025

I'm working on a Smartsheet for items that are in 2026 and I have some columns that are set to the date field formatted like 15-May-26.

The issue is that when I enter the date like 15 May, normally I can hit enter and it would enter the year, but for some reason, it is still set on defaulting to 2025 as the year.

Of course I'm not working in the past! I need my dates to default to 2026! It isn't a huge deal, but it is annoying to have to put 15 May 26 and then hit enter instead of just 15 May (or whatever date I am inputting).

Does anyone know how I can change the default to 2026? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Hi @EThomasEVT,

It defaults to the current year. 2025 is not in the past just yet. On Jan 1, it will default to 2026.
