Dropdown Question

Is it possible for dropdowns to filter by value?

For example, my dropdown options are: Solar Battery, Winter Battery, PV Panels, PV Interconnections.

If I type into a cell that uses this dropdown and enter “Battery,” none of the battery options appear. But if I type “PV,” then both “PV Panels” and “PV Interconnections” appear. Why don’t the battery options appear when typing “Battery”?

I’m experiencing this issue across more than 140 dropdown options, and it will be impossible to remember the first word of each option if filtering by value isn’t supported.

Howdy @swaldon2 - is this what you are talking about:

In the form you type part of word and the choices containing those letters come up? This works on the forms I have used, with forms for both single and multi-select dropdown. Totally random question, but does your spelling match for what you are searching for? (I have definitely done that before when hunting for something I know is there, but it only has on "t" instead of two "tt")

I want to do this on a sheet not a form. And yes, the spelling is correct!

Edit: So I just checked and it seems like it works in table view but not grid view. Maybe it is just a limitation of grid view?
