Recover deleted rows?

Hello Everyone,

I'm afraid I know the answer, but I'm hoping I'm wrong. I track tickets in a sheet and then move them to a separate closed sheet when they are completed. At the end of each year, I save a copy of the sheet with the closed tickets, rename it for the just completed year to archive, and clear out the contents of the original sheet to start it over for current year.

Here's the problem: This year I accidentally saved the 2024 closed sheet as 2025, got interrupted, and came back and cleared out the original sheet. So, my 2025 archive is 2024 data, and my 2025 data is gone from the original sheet.

Any coming back from that?

Hi @D.Hersher,

Go to your Activity Log, find the edit before the mass changes that caused your problems, and click "request snapshot". You will receive an Excel file via email with the data. Then you can manually apply the data back where you need it. Unfortunately, it will have a new "created date". Here's where to access the Activity Log.

As a good practice you should create data shuttles that offload all important sheets to Google Drive or OneDrive as csv at least once a day. Both of them keep previous versions of files so you can easily recover data in a few minutes.
