Hi Community — I’m hoping someone has solved a use case similar to mine.
I’m trying to use a single Smartsheet form to route different audiences to different external URLs immediately after submission.
Here’s the exact workflow I’m trying to enable:
- Advisor (customer) lands on our product page
- Clicks a single CTA → opens a Smartsheet form
- Form collects:
- Name
- Email
- Advisor Type (dropdown with 2 values)
- Based on the Advisor Type selected, Smartsheet should redirect the user to one of two Adobe Sign Webform URLs (these are different contract agreements)
- The advisor should go directly to the correct Adobe link—no emails, no dashboards, no extra clicks.
I already have a column in my sheet called “Adobe Contract Link” that uses formulas/lookups to generate the correct URL per advisor type. That part is working perfectly.
The challenge:
It appears Smartsheet forms only allow a static redirect URL in the Form Settings (“Send the user to a link”), and do not support referencing a sheet column (like =[Adobe Contract Link]) for dynamic routing.
My form also does not show “submission details” on the confirmation page, so I can’t use the auto‑hyperlink workaround some users have mentioned.
My question to the Community:
➡️ Has anyone successfully implemented dynamic redirects from a Smartsheet form, where the redirect URL changes based on a form response or a formula-generated URL in the sheet?
If yes:
- How did you accomplish it?
- Did you use dashboards with URL parameters?
- WorkApps?
- A legacy form experience?
- Any special account settings or admin configurations?
- A workaround that still keeps the advisor experience frictionless?
I’m on Smartsheet Premier (2024) and want to confirm whether this capability exists in any plan or can be enabled by an admin — or whether the only realistic solutions involve external routing pages or multiple forms. I am also trying to avoid generating an email to send the advisor, I'd like the advisor to be able to complete the contract in one visit to the website, rather that having to wait for the email with a link to the correct Adobe Webform contract.
Any guidance, examples, or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance.
