Dashboard flow on mobile devices

We have developed our dashboards on the desktop view with specific flows and shared items grouped together.

When you go to the mobile app and choose the mobile view flow goes out the window.

Is there a way to configure the flow and location of items specific for mobile, or to at least set the order they appear on the mobile device.

It makes the dashboard not very functional as the headings and groupings are lost on the mobile.

You’re running into a known limitation with Smartsheet dashboards: the desktop layout does not carry over to mobile view. On mobile, widgets are automatically stacked vertically, and the desktop grouping, sizing, and flow are not preserved. There currently isn’t a way to create a separate layout specifically for mobile or explicitly control the order of widgets on the mobile app.

Some practical approaches teams use:

Simplify for mobile – Create a dedicated dashboard optimized for mobile use with only the most important widgets. This can be shared alongside your main desktop dashboard.

Use card widgets – Cards often adapt better on mobile than charts or metric widgets because they stack cleanly and retain context.

Prioritize content – Place the most critical information at the top in desktop view as a compromise, since mobile always renders from top to bottom.

In short, there’s no way to fully replicate the desktop flow on mobile. Many teams maintain a separate “mobile-friendly” dashboard if mobile access is critical.
