Update Request Email

Hello, I am testing the Update Request feature for a project we are working on. The project is to confirm current information but also have the recipient update any information. So far it seems like it could work for us, as we would prefer the recipients don't have access to the sheet itself.

One question we have is around the initial update request email: Is there a way to hide all the Details below the blue email & Open Request section? (see screenshot sample)

I am not sure why these column details are listed if the purpose of the request is for the recipient to "Open Request" and then confirm or update information. It would be great if this extra text could be hidden, but happy to learn if there is another reason for the list to be shown.

Hi @kmiras,

These fields are visible because they are selected in the Update Request automation. Any columns added in the action block as shown in below screenshot will appear in the update request email.

To remove them, simply remove those fields from the 'Specific fields' section. Once removed, they will no longer be displayed in the email.

Hi @Anjanesh Vaidya , thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately that did not work as when I removed all the fields and tried to save, I was prompted that at least one column needs to be selected (see screenshot below). Am I missing something??

It would be great if there was the option of "No fields" under Message includes. I still don't understand why I need to select fields/columns to go in the email message if I want recipients to use the Open Request button? I guess for now I have to choose at least one column, unless there is another workaround/solve? Thanks again for your time.

Hi again @Anjanesh Vaidya - I have made a discovery. It would appear that the Specific Fields directly correlate to the Update Request form that gets generated. See my sample below - I thought I could do a work around by having a blank column but adding a title saying "Click Open request". However when I selected Open Request, the Update request form that was generated only included that field/column.

I guess the ultimate solve would be to select the specific fields, if that has to happen to generate the Update request form, but then have the option to 'hide' them from the bottom of the email message. How doable this is, I'm not sure?

Yes, you have to selecte at least one field, and selected fields will appear in both the email and the update request form. Unfortunately, there’s no option today to hide them from the email.
