Worksheet Access and Permission

Question

Good afternoon.

Hoping someone can help. I want a co-worker to have edit permissions to a sheet within a workspace. I first gave editor permissions only to the sheet. This didn't work, they couldn't edit the sheet. I then gave view permission to the workspace and editor permission to the sheet, but they still can't edit the sheet.

I don't want them to have edit permission for the whole workspace but just for certain sheets within the workspace - am I missing something?

You're sharing things the way that SEEMS logical - you shouldn't have to share a workspace in order to edit one asset in said workspace.  BUT… there's another layer to this, remember. In the user subscription model, users can be designated as a Member (what used to be called "Licensed") or as a Viewer (what used to be called "Free Users").  If a user is set to be a Viewer, that prevents them from editing things, even if they're shared to individual assets as Editors or above.

The answer is - your coworker should talk to your IT team to be listed as a Member, if they want to have edit permissions.

I'll reach out to the company administrator to ensure the team member is licensed. Hopefully that does the trick.
