The Smartsheet Jira Connector now supports OAuth 2.0 authentication, aligning with Atlassian's latest security standards. This update brings enhanced security, a streamlined consent flow, and better compatibility with future Jira updates — so you can keep your integrations running smoothly and confidently.
All existing connections will continue to work on OAuth 1.0a without any disruption, and any new connections created after February 24, 2026 will automatically use OAuth 2.0. If you'd like to migrate your existing connections to OAuth 2.0, simply submit a support ticket with the subject "Jira OAuth 2.0" and our team will assist you.
Please note that OAuth 2.0 supports a maximum of 3 connections per Jira Cloud instance. There is no limit on the number of workflows you can run against those connections, and this restriction does not apply to Jira Data Center. Learn More
