I am wanting to send a request for an update to our inventory control people when we have non-conforming material that needs to be contained in the system and physically. I have a column for each with a drop down of Yes, No,N/A.

I have my automation setup for triggered when containment required changes to any value, supplier complaint # changes to any value.

And if the status is open

Is containment required- yes

When location is Newton or Lincolnton

Request an update from specific people ( 3 email addresses)

It is not sending out this request

I tried creating a column for Inventory Control contacts for those locations and inventory control for another location

But I could not figure out how to get those contacts to show up.

I think that is the issue. Does anyone have any suggestions?

When I just type in the email addresses to send to specific people it doesn't go out.

When you type in an email address are you receiving any warning like, "Some recipients are blocked".

Sometimes your companies default sharing settings will prevent you from sharing information and restricts you to share only with people who are shared on the sheet. If that is the case, sharing the worksheet with the intended party will resolve the issue. Sometimes there are other restrictions which you may or may not be able to work around. For example, some companies do not allow you to share with anyone whose email address doesn't share your domain.

The other issue could very well be your trigger isn't really triggering the action of sending the email. When testing a "change in value" trigger, SAVE the worksheet, THEN change the value, and then immediately SAVE again. Just deleting the contents of a cell and then repopulating that cell with the same information will not trigger the action because with the save in the middle… nothing really changed!
