The ISO 8601 standard defines an internationally recognised format for representing dates and times, ensuring logical ordering from the largest to the smallest unit (YYYY-MM-DD). This system eliminates regional confusion and guarantees that dates sort accurately as text.

Considering agentic solutions such as Copilot Frontier, it would be a useful feature to allow dates to show in the ISO 8601 standard, to ensure AI-enabled workflows between Smartsheet and non-Smartsheet solutions are as robust as possible.

YYYY-MM-DD is how dates are stored on the back-end regardless of how they are displayed, but if you prefer to have your dates displayed that way, you can set that in the column formatting options.
