Any work arounds when cell change history doesn't work?

Hi,

I have an open ticket because cell history isn't working for some cells in one of my sheets. I was told it's a known issue that they are working on.

In the meantime, wondering if anyone has found a way to work around this for discovering old cell history? Is there a way to get it via API or another way?

I do have a way that I I've built to track history going forward within other sheets by copying rows at key points to create a snapshot, but I am getting repeated requests for the older cell history.

Technically you can access it through the api, but you can also find the data in the activity log.
