OFFSET FUNCTION

Does Smartsheet have an equivalent of the EXCEL OFFSET FUNCTION ?

Thanks for the question. Smartsheet currently doesn't have a function that's comparable to the OFFSET function in Excel. Depending on what you're trying to do however, you may be able to use the INDEX() function combined with the MATCH() function.

Thanks Robert. I'll let you know if it works. In short, I am looking to extract some values from a large sheet ( main calculation sheet) to show them in another sheet. The challenge is that, although the values are located on a same line and spaced out at regular intervals, they are not contiguous ( separated by two columns), and I want them contigous in the destination sheet. Which is why I was looking for an Offset function.

Currently Smartsheet doesn't support cross-sheet formulas to get information from one sheet to another sheet. This functionality is being worked on however, and we hope to release in Q1, but that could change so we don't have an exact date as of right now.

 

If the information is in same sheet, either the LOOKUP() function or a combination of the INDEX() and MATCH() functions should do this for you. You can find out more on these and all other functions here if needed (https://help.smartsheet.com/functions).
