can i set a notification that is driven by a date and a name. ie i have a date column with a date range for my local school term, showing weekdays only. my next column is a recurring set of names, and finally my third column is a column titled 'tasks'.

what i want SS to do is to send the person in column 2 a notification every time their name appears in column 2, say 1 day before the date their name is against that date, to remind them their task is due in 24 hours time.

Hi Joe,

As long as your "name" column is a Contact list type AND includes the email address of the person.

Instead of a notification rule, you'll want to create a REMINDER based on your date column and the contact column. Details on reminders can be found here: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/542913-using-reminders

Note that they'll also need to be shared on the sheet, and have logged in to Smartsheet at least once for them to get the reminder.
