Date Dependency in a Form

Hello, 

I have a form setup for vacation requests and tracking purposes.  In the form the requestor has to input todays date, which automatically defualts to today's date, but we're having issues with the start and end dates.  I would like default date to be dependent and automatically to at least update to the start date to reduce submissions with non corresponding dates like the attached.

Currently default values are set statically and are not able to be dependent on other fields.

You can let our product team know that you'd like dependent default values in forms by clicking on the Submit Product Enhancement Request link on the right-side pane of Community pages.

Can any checks or rules be put into a form to validate upon submission and display an error?

If SS can't, you would get much more flexibility by integrating with google forms or one of the other providers.

Hello,

Smartsheet forms themselves can validate data using dropdown lists and can require fields.

Beyond that, you could use automated update requests to check submitted data and then send an update request to the submitter if there is invalid data.
