How does one maintain collapsed sections?

I have built project plan with multiple levels of sub-tasks and have gone through and collapsed the various sections that are not in scope for my task at hand or phase of the project.  For example, one of many work streams/tracks expanded on all the various project phases but the rest of the work streams/tracks collapsed.  Yes, I could restructure project based on work stream/tracks but then my questions would be the same put using project phase as an example.

My problem is that moving between sheets or exiting and opening again expands all tasks.  How does one prevent this from happening?

We've found that if we collapse the topics and save the sheet they remain collapsed. But if someone expands the closed topics, makes edits, and saves the sheet the item saves expanded. Make sure nobody else is expanding your sheet and leaving it left expanded. Autosave will keep that bad-boy expanded.
