Adding row number to email sending attachment
We frequently send attachments to the next task owner (example, from document drafter to document editor), and we want the person receiving the attachment to know in which row the attachment is posted. Is there a way to do this? Right now the email just has a link to the doc.

Hi
If you send a Row or Rows Update request you can specify a) when it gets sent, b) how many columns you wish the Receiver to see/ edit which includes attachments.
That should get you what you seek? And when there are update requests that have not yet been responded to, a little icon shows left of the Rows to alert the sheet owner to inaction.
Equally an alert can be set for when the respondee has replied.
Hope that helps?

I don't think that will do it... we send links to docs to our team members almost daily, and it's just so easy to email the doc from the attachment menu. We also often have multiple attachments to a row, so sending a row wouldn't hit the mark.
Could we add an enhancement request to just say from which row the attachment was sent? Or even better, which sheet and which row.

Hi,
Interesting!
Great idea! That would be a great addition to Smartsheet features.
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.
Hope that helps!
Have a fantastic week!
