Date Column Not Working

When I enter dates into the column titled "Start Date" or "End Date", the data disappears from the cell.

Verify if the Column properties have been set to Date.

Click on the column header then click on edit column properties. their should be a blue check mark next to the "Date" option for the date(s) to populate with the calendar tool.
