Formula Help to Add Symbols

Hey guys - I have a unique request. We use sheets to create project plans for Clients and set up a Column called 'Stoplight Status' using red, yellow, green, etc. colored circle symbols in the cell. Anyone know how to create a formula to sum each category of color? Client is requesting this snapshot. Thanks for any help offered!

Hi Jennifer

If you want to count each color you can use the formulas below.

=COUNTIF([Stoplight Status]:[Stoplight Status]; "Red")

=COUNTIF([Stoplight Status]:[Stoplight Status]; "Green")

=COUNTIF([Stoplight Status]:[Stoplight Status]; "Yellow")
