We started moving towards using Kanban boards and have set up lanes vertically. But how do we add horizontal lanes to support a true Kanban board?
Also add a yes vote to setting WIP limits.
Hello,
There currently isn't a way to create horizontal lanes in Smartsheet's Card View (Kanban board).
When you have a moment, please submit a Product Enhancement Request using the form under Quick links on the right of the community site for this AND for setting WIP limits.
6 years later ... is this still correct: no horizontal lanes in Card View?
Hi @jedci
I hope you're well and safe!
Unfortunately, no, but it's still an excellent idea! Also, a new Card View is being developed, and maybe that's the key to these kinds of improvements.
To add your vote! Please submit this as a Product Feedback or Idea (If it hasn't been added already) when you have a moment.
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic weekend!
Best,
Andrée Starå | Workflow Consultant / CEO @ WORK BOLD

Does sharing a sheet with edit or view rights immediately require the shared user to have a paid license, effectively making them a group member? This seems to be occurring. In contrast, can I confirm that sharing a link using the 'publish' feature will not require a license since the user is only accessing that specific…
I have provisional users who, under the legacy model, were unlicensed users with editing permissions for workspaces. I’ve now changed their role to "viewers" and assigned editing permissions to specific workspaces, aiming to maintain the same editing experience as before. However, they cannot edit fields within tasks or…
