Is there is a way to do this without having to create another column and naming it Parent?

Reports currently don't have an "is parent" type of criteria—that means that all of your parents need to have a common criteria to be brought into the report. The easiest way to accomplish this is, as you know, to have a "Parent" type of checkbox column or flag column that you can mark as a parent row.
Otherwise, if all of your parent rows already have a common criteria, then you don't need to create an extra column.
