Auto date and time stamp

hi Folks, newbie here so forgive my lack of knowledge. Is there a way I can auto time stamp an action. So for example if a status change to a specific status ie Closed, resolved or similar. Could a timestamp in the form of DDMMYYY HH:SS be auto entered in another cell?

This is one of the most fundamental features you could imagine in a Project Management solution, but is missing from your toolkit in this instance. Smartsheet ignores time in any of the system time columns no matter what you do.

Well, technically the above is not really true. It worked at one time, but then they turned it off because they found a bug. And as we all know, if you find a bug in something, you should completely deprecate all features associated with it immediately and then sit on your hands for over 2 years trying to work out how to implement a fix.

Hi,

You can see the history of every cell with the cell history function. Another option could be to use a third-party solution like Zapier or similar.

This tool/template does not provide TIME stamp but only a DATE.

How can we record both DATE and TIME when a condition is satisfied?

Why is it named a "timestamp" if it is missing the time? Timestamping days only work only for some applications and it is not precise enough for many of today's applications. The default timestamps (like modified date, created date) record everything. Is it really not possible to use the same code?

So now I am stuck the automation only being able to choose between Change Cell Value and Current Date Stamp.

I need both since that data from the cell can't be extracted!
