How can I create a cardview based on date eg. start date or finish date

There currently isn't a way to view lanes by date (only symbol, dropdown, and contact columns at this time).
When you have a moment, please submit a product enhancement request using the form under Quick links on the right of our Community site to let our Product team know that you'd like to see this feature added to Smartsheet.
I was just searching for how to filter/view the card view based on date and came across this article. Has this feature been added? I'd like to do the same.
If not available, is there a way to do the same using the WEEKDAY function?
Still looking for documentation, but I am curious about the limitations with the dropdown linking in Table View. Does a person need to have access to the dropdown source sheet in order for the dropdowns to populate on the Table sheet?
