Hello community, 

I apologize if this comes across as trivial, but I am wondering what the optimal solution is to show charts (pie, mostly) showing what percentage of cells in a sheet have the symbol Red Dot / Green Dot / etc.

Can I access those symbols directly? Or can I do some sort of IF statement which assigns a value to a color dot?

Open to all ideas!

You would need to use a COUNTIF statement to pull the count of each color. Have it arranged in a table. Then reference that table when building your chart. You can keep that table within the same sheet to make it easier to find. If you add a column on the far right of your sheet you can plug the table in there and then "hide" the column to keep your sheet clean. When building your chart widget, all hidden columns are shown in the builder, so it will be easy to find and refer to, but still remain hidden on the actual source sheet.
