Cashflow formula - IF formula issue under date formatted column

Hi, I'm trying to create a project cash flow projection sheet and I'm stuck with the (see attached photo) IF formula. I need the column to be formatted as date to find the IF formula but I cant format the cells below as number/text and I believe this is the reason that the IF formula isn't working. Any help to get this working or work arounds would be appreciated.

Hello,

You're correct in that you can't have a formula calculate a numeric value in a date column. To get your calculation without error, you'll need to put this formula in a text/number column.

I'd recommend creating a new text/number column to the left or right of your date column, then placing your formula in there.

It looks as if your dates are being linked in from another sheet. You don't need to have it set as a date column for that. A text/number column works just fine for linking in dates from another sheet and will allow your IF statement to work as well.
