I'd like to pile on to this request. It's high time this very simple solution be added to the tool. I love SmartSheet; I'm part of the early adopter and mobilizer programs, but I'm very frustrated that this has been requested now for over three years with no reaction from Smartsheet. This is a failure. I've submitted the form, but come on.

Wishing for this functionality! I might not be able to continue using Smartsheet if this isn't an option!!

I am currently looking for this functionality myself. Can it be submitted again as a reminder, lol.

  • I am also looking for this functionality. It would be super helpful to have as currently doing this manually is taking up a lot of time.

  • I'd like to join the growing list of people requesting the same functionality here. Seems like this is a pretty straightforward feature that multiple people are familiar with from excel. @Genevieve P., is there any point in me submitting another form to the product team? I'd imagine they have received dozens of forms for the same request, so I'm not certain if submitting another one will provide any benefit here since we're going on 6+ years of this being highlighted with no notable progress. If you think submitting another form would be useful though, let me know and I'll gladly resubmit for this request!

This is really a long time coming. It's unbelievable that it's not 'a thing' already, and more so unbelievable that it's been years since it was requested and not added as an option.

We NEED to be able to write one rule for if any cell in one of these 104 columns are blank apply this format, not write 104 rules.

We also NEED to be able to say, if any date in any of these selected columns is past due apply this same format, not write a rule for every column.

  • This is ridiculous! I have a sheet with 25 columns that have the same 6 possible values. I want to format the cell based on its value, regardless of the column. I'm going to have to create 12 rules 25 times??

  • Any updates on this request? It has been over 6 years!
