Can I use the IF function to access information from another sheet?

I want to move a file currently in Excel to Smartsheet.  In Excel I have 2 tabs - one where incidents are recorded (call it tab A) and the other that has a list of programs with what division they are in and their staffing set up (call it Tab .  When I am recording an incident on A, I enter the program name and its division and staffing auto-populate.  Can I do that in Smartsheet?  Would all the information have to be on one sheet?  I've looked at cell linking but the list is long so bouncing back and forth between sheets to copy the info would take too long.

You can accomplish this with Cross-Sheet Formulas.

Mommaduck: You can accomplish this using a VLOOKUP function. Depending on the number of columns you are using this could actually be a pretty simple setup, and no. All of the information does NOT have to be on the same sheet. If you are able to provide some screenshots, we may be able to help you find a solution a little better.

Andree: No worries. You should see some of my REALLY boneheaded posts from this week that Mike ended up correcting. I am pretty sure I could survive if I got two vacations a year. Each one would only have to last a short 6 months, and I'd be good to go...
