editing locked rows

Good Morning, 

I have a smartsheet that has had issues with a merge saving since i had multiple users in it. the sequence of the rows is critical but is also fluid throughout the day. i need to lock down the movement of rows to a single user, but i need to have the other users be able to check the checkboxes in the rows. By locking it down, it locks down all of the cells. Anyone have a trick to lock the movement of the row, but allow input?

Hi,

You might consider creating a report for them and having them stick to editing data from the report instead. They can sort the report all they want without changing the structure of the source sheet.
