Filter on columns with values populated by a formula

Hello. After searching  and coming up empty handed, I decided to post for help.

I have columns in a sheet that are populated by VLOOKUP functions. Whenever I run a filter on one of those columns, all 1703 rows of my sheet are in included or excluded. 

As an example, if I set a filter on the "Effective Price To" = "is not in the future" all 1703 of my rows are displayed, yet clearly some of the date values are in the future. 

Both lookup and populated columns have the "date" column type set.

Is this a limitation of cell values being derived from a function?

Hi Andree,

Thanks for the response. Since my data is private and confidential, I decided to build a sample to share. However when I created the new sheets the functionality was as expected.

I guess the issue resides with this particular sheet and/or my source data. I'm going to try creating the sheet from scratch with my production data and see if I run into the same problem. I'll update this thread regardless of the results.
