Update Form not allowing updates to columns with formulas

I have a sheet that have formulas in some columns and when the update request goes to the user the user does not have the ability to update those columns.

Is this a known issue and can this be changed to allow updates to columns with formulas.

Hi William,

Is the row you're asking for an update on a parent row? It won't work if you have Gantt enabled. It won't work if you have any other formulas in the cell either.

Hey Andrée,

This screenshot is from a child row with no children under it. 

All the rows have a formula in a couple of columns (parents and children). I was wondering if this is a known issue or is this something that Smartsheet is not allowing for a reason. The ideal action is that if it is the child row the user needs to be able to update those columns by the update form.

Sorry for the delayed responses. I am not getting notifications of your replies. We tested with both locked and unlocked and didn't change anything. We are doing a workaround of doing overnight API calls to check to see if the row is a parent or child. If child it will remove the formula and add a 0 if parent it will add the formulas.

Great that you found a solution, and that's the main thing, but it should work the other way too. I'll get back to you if I find what's causing it.
