Membership multi-tiered contact database
I'm trying to help a new member organisation develop a contact database, with a self-service update and search feature.
I'm happy with the broad principles of line item data, but am struggling with the multi-tiered profile summary where members select their ability to provide services across any of 16 disciplines,150+ sub-discipline specialisations, different industry sectors and geographies. The ability to make multiple selections is required.
The search is needed as the membership is for professionals to network and seek out complementary skill sets to mutually help each other on specific projects.
I accept this would be normally held in a CRM or other RDBMS, but was confident I could link sheets and use reports (or sights) to allow the seaches to be run.
The in-practice is proving more difficult than the theory!

Hi Chris,
Would it work to have multiple columns for the main disciplines and sub-disciplines as needed?
I have a few ideas in how this could work.
