Collecting data over time
I have a portfolio of 20 projects, the project manager of each currently provides me with a weekly estimate of their total capital requirement for the year via an automated update request in smartsheet.
At the moment, this gives me a weekly static snapshot, but I'd like an automated way of seeing changes over time.
Is there a way that each week's entry can be recorded sequentially to the last, rather than over-writing it - i.e. so I can see how each project's capital requirement changes over-time?

Hi Adam,
You could add specific columns for each week, but another better option would probably be to either copy the rows to another sheet or use a service like Zapier or similar to automate it.
Would that work?
Have a fantastic weekend!

What about using a form to collect the data instead of an update request? There are many email tools that can be used to schedule emails to go out. Boomerang and Gmelius are a couple that I have used in our Gmail environment. But then you would just send the link to the form or embed the form in your email and schedule it to go out weekly. Then the form would populate a new row instead of overwriting the old one.
I also found a method for scheduling emails in Outlook written by Extend Office
