Is it possible to select more than one thing from a drop-down column?

We are struggling with the drop-down option as it seems like you can only select one option from the list. Is there a way of allowing users to select multiple options?

Oh, my apologies!! Yes, my comments are in regards to a Contact List, not a Dropdown list.

The big draw back with using allowing multiple contacts in a cell is it negates using that column from being used as a view in the Card View. Hope they can figure a way around that soon.

Can you advise when this is going to be released as I understand that this has actually been in development since 2015 of not before.

I need to start using this now as the workarounds are no longer suitable for me.
