How do I use a countif formula to count the number of various priorities?

I have a column for priority which returns symbols. Exclamation = high, dash = medium, and down arrow = low.

I have tried various formulas and nothing is working.

I basically want to know the amount of highs, mediums, and lows in my sheet.

Hi Dacey,

Try this.

Change Hight to Medium, Low to count them.

=COUNTIF(Priority:Priority; "High")

The same version but with the below changes for your and others convenience.

=COUNTIF(Priority:Priority, "High")

Depending on your country you’ll need to exchange the comma to a period and the semi-colon to a comma.

Countifs result not matching filter
