Alert to User Who Made Cell Change
Hi -
I cannot figure out how to word my need so that I can search for it in the community posts. I am looking for either an alert or reminder, I think, for this situation:
A user, *not always the same user*, adds a job number to the 'job number' column but left the 'approved hours' column blank. As Smartsheet is constantly saving changes, and saves before you exit, I want a reminder/alert/something, to pop up/email the user when they try to or successfully save the sheet when there is a value in the 'job number' column but not in the 'approved hours' column.
Does this make sense?
Thanks!

You should just need to create an alert, see attached. You might need an automated Created By column in your sheet to capture who is inputting, if you don't already.

An update request could also be triggered to send. That way the person could just update real quick using the link from the email instead of having to reopen the sheet and look for the appropriate row.

Thank you! Unfortunately we already use a lot of conditional formatting to try to get the attention of users, but they just ignore the red box.

I believe I will use the "modified by" automated column instead, either way this will work. Thanks for explaining it!
