Pre-populate Web form with info from Dashboard

Hi everyone, here is what I'm trying to do:

I want to create a dashboard with links to web forms when doing on-site audits. These links will be different sections of items being audited. When I encounter an issue, I would click on the link, fill out the form and then keep going with my walk-through. These forms would be compiling the data into sheets, which would be multi-projects.

(The dashboard is basically just a way of presenting the sheets and not having to go back and forth while on-site. Reports can be run later if I need to have info summarized by projects.)

So each project would have a Dashboard (copied over from the template so links are good).

What I want (finally I'm getting there :-) ) When I get to the form, I would like the Project Number, Project Name being pre-populated. (If I get a lot of deficiencies, I don't want to type this info again and again...)

Any thoughts on how I can achieve this? Thanks

    Hi,

You could add it to the form and hide the field, or you could add the information in the link to the form.

    Which method would you prefer?

Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s) or some screenshots? That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)

    Hope that helps!

    Have a fantastic week!

    Thanks Andrée.

The "thing" is not built yet... But here are a few snapshots that should explain better...

My Sample Dashboard would contain the Links. (In my example, House Keeping and PPE).  Clicking on them, would bring the form (which I want to be pre-populated with the job number and name and Today's date.)

These forms would fill out the associated sheets. The House Keeping sheet would contain issues from any jobs. When I need to go to a new project, I would create a copy of the Dashboard, update the widget with Name and Number and I would be good to go.

Your suggestion about passing the info in the URL itself seems good for what I want. Any idea where I could get more info on how to do this?
